I'm using an ODBC connection to an Excel file to get a list of images to display.
And it's working quite well... my Excel file contains only one column with the full path of the images. I use that value in the "Image path" field of one image object on a page.
My excel file is like this:
FullPath
D:\Slide01.png
D:\Slide02.png
D:\Slide03.png
D:\Slide04.png
D:\Slide05.png
D:\Weather.png
The "Weather.png" is overwritten on the server by a new version every hour (because the weather is changing!). However, it does not trigger any change on the LCD screen... Always displaying the "old" Weather.png. Like if it was taken from a cache or something... Can you help ?
Thanks!

Hello Matdaut,
Make sure that you running the latest version of the Noventri software available here : http://www.noventri.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=205
You may be experiencing an excel lock issue with your default ODBC driver. To fix this, install Microsoft's AccessDatabaseEngine.exe driver, restart Suite, then choose the following driver in your Suite project:
Microsoft Excel Driver (*.xls, *.xlsx,...)
It is important that you select this exact option as there will now be multiple excel drivers to choose from.
This version of the driver should take care of the lock issues you are experiencing. Please let us know how it goes, or if there is anything else we can help you with.
Kind Regards,
Viktor

Re: "Database" image not refreshed
So do I update the ODBC drive on the server only since the problem appears to be the serer locking the file(s)?
Re: "Database" image not refreshed
The same driver should be installed on all machines running either the Noventri Suite or Noventri Server. Since you will be changing your project settings to use the new driver, the same driver needs to be installed on all machines.

Re: "Database" image not refreshed
FYI - the downloaded file says Microsoft Office Access db engine. Does that matter?
Re: "Database" image not refreshed
Yes, that is correct. The pack has a number of Microsoft ODBC Drivers.
Please remember to change your Suite project to use the excel driver labeled, "Microsoft Excel Driver (*.xls, *.xlsx,...)" . It is important that you choose that exact option as you will now have different excel drivers to choose from.
