how to display rows and colums

Post by Linas »

I found the Dynamic-Pages-Draft.pdf and was able to update text fields but nothing lines up how to make more like excel with rows and columns?
Information will not fill screen and I have is a black background with white text?
How to make it look more like a sign?

Hello Linas,

Dynamic pages were created with this same purpose in mind - to dynamically roll out additional pages from a data source when there is more data than a single page allows room for.

Starting page on 10 of the PDF that you have, you will find information on how dynamic pages roll out and how to manipulate them. If formatter and offset values have been entered correctly, the page will roll out additional pages to display the remainder of the data that does not fit on the first screen just as you are looking for.

It is possible that the pages are rolling out as intended, but are not where you expect them to appear. These additional dynamic pages will not appear in your pages section as normal pages do. You can see the output of the dynamic pages by viewing within the sequence tab, clicking the sequence entry and pressing the left & right arrows on your keyboard to go through the sequence.

I also encourage you to look around our support area for dynamic pages and content to see if any other users may have had similar issues that we have solved!

As for your first issue, it sounds like you may just need some direction to make the data more visually appealing and/or appear in a more familiar spreadsheet type of format.

The data that we pull from comes through as raw text, and does not come in as one large table. This affords users the ability to style, arrange and make use of data in any situation that they may need.

In the following video, you can see how we utilized a background graphic to overlay our databased regions over in a way that looks like a chart, as well as look visually appealing as a sign should:

There are many font, color, and formatting options to bring your data beyond the default white text on a black background. All you need are some creative ideas or background images to bring your data to life. Some background templates to get you started can be found here:

I hope that I have been able to help with any issues that you may be experiencing. Between our forum here and our Youtube channel, we have many resources available to help make your signage the best possible!

We also offer content creation services from our expert design team. If more in-depth assistance is required, feel free to call and talk with our friendly support staff to help get you on track at 301-790-0103.
